This week on They Bring The Music To Us we've got Ninebullets.net a refreshingly honest mp3 blog with a focus on
country, rock, blues, metal, folk, bluegrass and all the hyphenated subgenres that may fall under those labels.
Before I get on talking about Ninebullets, I'd like to point out something I've noticed.*
In my days of mp3 blog reading, I've found that there are two types of mp3 bloggers in this world (and there may be subclasses of these two groups, and situations where one can start off as one class and end up another, but that is for another day).
Class A: These are the ones who will write a post, with the content there, all nice and neat and meticulously planned out, and maybe there will be a personal anecdote (but just a little one) or a line with a hint of a different voice behind the fingers that typed it. Then in the comments of that post when responding to a reader they have a different voice, they let go of the professional "this-music-blog-is-a-business-and-i'm-the-proprietor" voice, and use their own instead. Sometimes this type of blogger has multiple blogs. The "this-music-blog-is-a-business" blog and a personal blog (which they sometimes also post music to) or a blog about one genre and a blog about another.
Class B: Then there are the types who (probably on a whim) decided that they might try putting up some songs that they like on their blog without regard to what was mainstream or indie or country or swedish. A blogger whose personal blog is their mp3 blog. No faux journalist voice, and no regrets. Of course they may have cleaned up their blog a little bit, or started anew with a fresh name and layout just in case people actually started reading.
If you'd like a Class A blog I can direct you to a few, but if you'd like to read a Class B blog, then stay right here, Ninebullets.net is a good one.
Ninebullets.net (not to be confused for Ninebullets.org, a Drive-by Truckers site) offers a crisp, clear, and simple reading experience, with medium to long posts (in terms of mp3 blogging anyway) about music that other music blogs just aren't covering. Each post is ripe with morsels of popculture info on the band and genre that music fans will love.
Also great about the site is the calendar of shows the author plans on attending and the essential listening list, which is constantly compiling the best albums heard.
Ninebullets.net is a can't miss blog so do yourself a favor and don't miss it.
