Snarky, *usually* up-to-date, smart-ass music news. If you are looking for pop princesses or flash-in-the-pan rappers, you have the wrong site my dear. reads Shame-Free's header, and it delivers what it promises.

Focusing less on the indie and more on the hard-rocking, Shame-Free is a music awareness blog rather than a straight up mp3 blog. Shame-Free does not put up any songs to download, it will however link to a band's page or Myspace where you can listen to a song. Shame-Free scours the internet music scene reading articles from all the big name music publications and even local music reviews and news from various cities. One look at one of Shame-Free's "Link it like you mean it" posts, which rounds up links to recent music news, and you'll realize just how much content Shame-Free's author must intake every week.
Content on Shame-Free is arranged in standard archive form (month by month) and through an extensive tagging system which works nicely. Just click on the name of your favourite artist and any post which mentions that artist will come up.

Unfortunately, Shame-Free's "smart-ass" commentary on music and music news is just that, smart-ass. Assuming that you could keep up with as much news as this author does, Shame-Free would be rendered useless. On top of that, the site itself is not the prettiest thing under the sun, in fact Shame-Free is so devoid of any kind of light if the blog were physical it would be a vampire's dream lair.
One other thing that bothers me about Shame-Free is the way the author provides links to content, choosing to use the word "Link" for every link gets out of hand, not to mention monotonous very quickly.

Bottom line:

If you want to be up to date on the happenings around the (non-indie heavier side of the) music scene, but don't want to have to actually search for that news, bookmark, subscribe to the RSS feed, or do anything else you need to do to get all up on the Shame-Free.
If you feel like you can handle enough news as it is about music and just want some sweet beats to listen to, don't bother with Shame-Free.
